Membership Benefits

The most important benefit for membership in the Alliance is knowing that as a member of the downtown community, you are contributing to the future of downtown and helping to make Downtown Raleigh a thriving, economically vibrant place to live, work, and play.

Membership also includes:

Publications - All Alliance members receive e-newsletters that include detailed articles about downtown projects, events, and other Alliance-related news and can choose to receive email notification of breaking news stories regarding downtown developments as they are announced. Members of the shopping, dining, entertainment, and visitor services categories (located within or adjacent to the downtown Business Improvement District) can also submit 10-word descriptions for their businesses to be used on the Alliance's website, www.YouRHere.com. Members of the shopping, dining, entertainment, and visitor services categories (located within or adjacent to the downtown Business Improvement District) will also be highlighted in bold in the "Discover Downtown" map/guides printed and distributed by the Alliance. Additionally, members can use the Downtown Raleigh or district logos in their advertising with Alliance approval.

Assistance/Advocacy - Members have access to the Alliance staff for assistance with any issue affecting the success of Downtown Raleigh. Corporate members are also entitled to have the CEO of the Alliance conduct an annual presentation of Downtown Raleigh's progress to their entire staff or management team, schedule permitting.

Networking - All members are invited to the Alliance's annual meeting to discuss the progress of Downtown Raleigh's revitalization and review the Alliance's efforts. Alliance members are also invited to attend "Meet Downtown," a bi-monthly member reception to meet and greet other business leaders from the downtown community.

Involvement - Members may serve on committees and are also eligible for election to the Alliance's Board of Directors. Input is also solicited from members on policy issues facing downtown and utilized in shaping the Alliance's advocacy efforts.

Business Enhancement - Members are also permitted to use the Alliance's conference room to host potential tenants, developers, and investors or to conduct other downtown-related meetings, according to availability. Additionally, members are encouraged to submit special deals and coupons to be listed on the 'Downtown Deals' section of the Alliance's monthly e-newsletter.  Members opening a new business may seek support from the Alliance for their ribbon cutting ceremony.  To download the ribbon cutting request from, click here.
