Q: When is the Downtown Raleigh Living Tour?
A: The Home Tour is on Saturday, May 19, 2012, 10 am to 5 pm.


Q: Is there a charge to go on the Downtown Raleigh Living Tour?
A: Yes. An admission pass to the Home Tour is $10/person when purchased in advance online (available until 5 pm, Friday, May 18). $15/person when purchased the day of the event


Q: Where do I pick up my pass and Tour brochure?
A: Admission passes purchased in advance must be picked up at WILL CALL located at the Tour Headquarters, Wells Fargo Capitol Building courtyard, 150 Fayetteville Street.


Q: What happens if it rains the day of the event?
A: The Downtown Raleigh Living Tour will be held rain or shine. If it does rain, please leave shoes and umbrellas outside of the home.


Q: How should I plan my route?
A: This is a self-guided tour. Please take the tour at your leisure and visit the homes in any order you prefer. Although the stops are numbered, you do not have to visit them in that order.


Q: Where should I park?
A: Due to Artsplosure also taking place at the same time, the most accessible parking deck located closest to the Home Tour headquarters is the Alexander Square parking deck. Parking in this deck is FREE on the weekends. For more information, click here.

For additional parking information, click here. Municipally-owned parking decks will charge a flat fee. FREE on-street parking with no time limit is available in a number of locations, but will be scarce.

Street parking is available at many of the single family homes. Please be respectful of neighbors and do not park in driveways or areas designated as no parking.


Q: What is an alternative way to get around to the Tour stops?
A:Take the R-Line. The R-Line is a FREE service with many stops in close proximity to Tour locations. Click here for map and stops.


Q: Is the Living Tour wheelchair accessible?
A: Some locations are wheelchair accessible by elevator and via ramps. Please check the brochure for wheelchair accessible locations.


Q: Will we meet the homeowners?
A: Homeowners to be at home during the Tour, and most will be. If they are at home, you are welcome to search them out for more information about downtown living and share comments. Volunteers are also available to assist you.

Q: Are shoes allowed in the homes?
A:This will vary per home. For your comfort and the protection of the tour homes, please refrain from wearing shoes with high heels and hard soles. Please be prepared to remove your shoes if requested by the home owner and/or volunteer at the front door.


Q: Can I bring my pet on the Living Tour?
A: With the exception of assistance animals, pets are not allowed in the Tour homes.


Q: Are public restrooms available at the homes?
A: No.


Q: What can I do between stops?
A: We recommend you take a break at any of downtown's dining establishments. For a full list of downtown dining establishments, click here.

Q: Can I buy an admission pass online in advance?
A: Yes. Admission passes may be purchased online in advance for $10/person.


Q: What forms of payment are accepted?
A: Visa and MasterCard can be used for online admission purchases. Cash and checks will be accepted for passes purchased on the day of the event.


Q: What is your refund policy?
A: All sales are final. We do not offer refunds.


Q: Where do I pick up tickets I have purchased online?

Q: Can I purchase tickets on the day of the event?

Q: Does my child need a ticket?
A: Children 12 and younger enter free and must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.


Q: What else should I know to make participating on the Living Tour more enjoyable?
A: Wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Food, beverages, high heel shoes, strollers, photography, and smoking are prohibited inside the homes.

Q: What else can I do while in downtown Raleigh?
A: Artsplosure 2012 is also taking place on Saturday, May 19 and Sunday, May 20 in downtown Raleigh's beautiful Moore Square and City Market.


The 32nd annual celebration of Artsplosure-The Raleigh Arts Festival will feature a juried Art Market showcasing the work of over 170 fine visual artists and craftsmen from across the US, children's craft activities & performances at Kidsplosure, temporary art installations, and fantastic music on two stages.
