"A Spring Jazz Affair"

WSHA 88.9 FM and the Raleigh Jazz Orchestra team up to present "A Spring Jazz Affair." The concert will feature traditional and contemporary jazz styles, with performances from the internationally acclaimed Raleigh Jazz Orchestra, and Ron Baxter and the Quintet.

"In our efforts to continue the great tradition of jazz in the triangle
and help preserve this great American music we are elated to combine our
efforts with WSHA 88.9 FM," says Dean Finn, Conductor of The Raleigh
Jazz Orchestra.

"Through this and other initiatives like it, we plan to increase our
efforts to keep jazz music and world music such as Blues, Gospel, Latin
Jazz, Reggae and African Music alive" said Dr. Emeka Emekauwa, WSHA
General Manager. "Additionally, we will continue to strive to support
the many emerging musicians and talents who seek to pursue careers in
the music field, with special emphasis on those studying and playing all
that jazz."

WSHA:  WSHA-FM 88.9, voted "The Best Radio Station" in the Triangle, has been
in community service since 1968. Based primarily on jazz music format,
WSHA utilizes its unique musical programming to reach a diverse audience
in the Triangle area and the world at large.

The Raleigh Jazz Orchestra:  The Raleigh Jazz Orchestra was organized as a not-for-profit arts
institution in January, 2003 in collaboration with the Raleigh Symphony.
The Raleigh Jazz Orchestra is a professional jazz ensemble under the
direction of Dr. Neal Finn consisting of the finest jazz musicians in
the Raleigh, North Carolina area.
