AIDSWALK + RIDE
Date: Saturday May 3rd, 2008
Time: 4 pm-5 pm
On May 3, 2008 the AIDSWALK and RIDE participants will assemble at the Halifax Mall in Raleigh. Participants will go the distance with a one mile and a three mile walk route and 30-mile, 60-mile, and 101.5 mile bike routes.
The WALK route will take place in downtown Raleigh.
The RIDE route will go through Wake, Durham, and Orange Counties, thereby touching all of the Alliance of AIDS Services - Carolina service area. Water, snacks, and port-a-johns are provided on both the RIDE and WALK routes.
Finally, Walkers, Riders, and Volunteers will enjoy a rousing closing ceremony at the Halifax Mall in downtown Raleigh.
Walkers are encouraged to raise a minimum of $100. Riders pay a $20 registration fee by March 31, 2008 and $45 as of April 1, 2008 and are encouraged to raise a minimum of $200.
No minimum age limit to be a walker. Minimum age limit of rider must be 13 years or older and accompanied by adult rider at all times.
Minimum age of youth volunteering is 18 years. For youth under the age of 18, information regarding youth groups, or other questions, please contact us for more information.

Associated Street Closures:
The group will assemble on the Halifax Mall. At 4 pm the walkers will enter onto Lane Street and travel west to Salisbury Street. They will proceed south on Salisbury to Morgan, east on Morgan to Person, north on Person to Lane where those participating in the 1 mile walk will go west on Lane and proceed back to Halifax Mall. Those walkers continuing on the 3 mile walk will continue north on Person to Franklin, west on Franklin to Blount, south on Blount to Edenton, west on Edenton to Wilmington, north on Wilmington to Lane, west on Lane and return to Halifax Mall.
