Raleigh Rocks Half Marathon and 5K return to Downtown Raleigh for a second year. The Half Marathon begins on Wilmington and Davie Streets. After making a loop Downtown, the course goes out Hillsborough Street to the Art Museum on Blue Ridge. It then takes the Greenway and crosses the beautiful pedestrian bridge over 440 and returns to the finish on Fayetteville Street.
The 5K makes a loop Downtown and begins and ends on Fayetteville Street.
Bands will perform along the route of both races featuring different types of music from percussion groups to rock bands.
There will also be a 1 mile fun run and a 100 yard kids dash.
Associated Street Closures:
Half Marathon beginning at 8 am:
The participants of the half marathon will assemble on South Wilmington Street between Davie and Lenoir Streets. At 8 am the participants will proceed north on Wilmington Street, west onto Edenton Street, south onto Harrington Street, east onto Martin Street, south onto Salisbury Street, east onto Lenoir Street, north onto Wilmington Street, west onto Edenton Street, proceed west to Hillsborough Street, continue west on Hillsborough Street, north onto Blue Ridge Road, east onto the Greenway at the entrance of the Art Museum, proceed on the Greenway through Meredith College and exit onto Hillsborough Street, east onto Hillsborough Street, north onto Faircloth Street, east onto Clark Avenue, south onto Dixie Trail, east onto Hillsborough Street, south onto Salisbury Street, east onto Morgan Street, south onto Fayetteville Street and finish between Martin and Davie Streets.
5K Run beginning at 8:30 am:
Runners will start on Fayetteville between Martin and Davie Streets, proceed north on Fayetteville Street, west onto Morgan Street, south onto Harrington Street, east onto Martin Street, south onto Salisbury Street, east onto South Street, north onto Wilmington Street, west onto Edenton Street, south onto Harrington Street, east onto Hargett Street, south onto Fayetteville back to the start/finish.
