On Saturday, December 3rd, visit the Raleigh City Museum from 1 pm-4 pm and learn more about the Disasters in Raleigh. Two programs will be conducted on fire and weather disasters in the Capitol City. A Raleigh Fire Department fire engine will also be present during the program to see up-close.
Beginning at 1:30 pm, active and retired members of the Raleigh Fire Department will speak about their experiences fighting some of the city’s biggest fires. At 2 pm, fire department historian Mike Legeros will talk about the history of disastrous fires in Raleigh. At 3 pm, Nate Johnson, WRAL meteorologist, will speak on the weather disasters of Raleigh and what is like to study and track them. This program is free and informational for both adults and children.
