CAM will present “Growth 1: The Garden,” an exhibition of work by CAM artist-in-residence Taj Forer and volunteers at the Anathoth Community Garden.
During the summer of 2007, CAM's artist-in-residence Taj Forer began a series of photography workshops at Anathoth Community Garden in Cedar Grove, NC. In these workshops, local residents were encouraged to take part in a creative dialogue with their surroundings. Armed with cameras, participants made photographs throughout the two-acre garden as well as inside their homes and around the community. What resulted is an intimate documentation of renewal, regeneration and hope.
The Growth Project is a continuing effort by CAM to explore creativity in everyday interactions and interventions. Community members are encouraged to participate in events that support this earth-sensitive, community-based artmaking project. This project is curated by Jody Servon, and funded by the Goodnight Educational Foundation. Cost: free
