LOCATION: North Carolina Symphony - 2 E South St

Take a world tour in an evening! Mendelssohn’s “Scottish” Symphony was inspired by castle ruins in Scotland. Missy Mazzoli (recently named one of the top-35 female composers of all time by The Washington Post) turned the “industrial grit” of Detroit into something more resonant in River Rouge Transfiguration. Alessio Bax returns to the Symphony to perform the dramatic Grieg Piano Concerto, influenced by Norwegian dance rhythms. Meet the Artists at 7pm hosted by Catherine Brand of WUNC - North Carolina Public Radio.
