Deep South The Bar will celebrate its one year anniversary on Saturday, October 18. Deep South is located on the corner of Dawson and Cabarrus Street, one short block from the new Raleigh Convention Center. It is a full service neighborhood bar featuring beer, wine, and spirits. Deep South serves up Raleigh's original drink The Cherry Bounce. The Cherry Bounce was made famous in 1788 by Isaac Hunter's Tavern (Raleigh's first bar) and according to legend was the drink served to influence lawmakers to choose Raleigh as the state capital. Daily specials include $1 Busch Light, $2 Bud Light, and $3 Shot specials. Deep South is open 7 days a week (M-F: 4:30pm-2am Sat/Sun: 8pm-2am).
Deep South The Bar is owned by Deep South Entertainment, an artist management and concert production company known locally for such events as Downtown Live, Raleigh Wide Open, The Capital City Bike Fest, and the North Carolina Ag Jam.
