Photographic Restoration and Manipulation Workshop

Ever wonder how to repair a damaged photograph or digitally manipulate an image? Raleigh City Museum Executive Director Wade Carmichael will lead a photographic restoration and manipulation workshop on Saturday, May 9, at 2 pm. Offered in conjunction with the Raleigh City Museum’s newest exhibit, Portraits of Raleigh: Images of a City and Her People, this workshop is part of an ongoing series of special public programs related to the exhibit. Workshop topics include:

  • Photo repair and restoration equipment
  • Techniques and processes used to repair damaged photographic images
  • Demonstrations using actual photos – participants invited to bring an image to assess
  • Photo manipulation processes: adding, changing, removing – how far should you go?
  • Q&A – group discussion and exploration
