The Halifax Park Community Center was built in 1972 and is in need of renovation and expansion to accommodate the recreational and educational needs of the changing neighborhood and adjacent downtown area. The City of Raleigh has hired Clark Nexsen, a local architectural and engineering firm, to perform a feasibility study to determine the scope of renovation and expansion and how best to address the short- and long-term needs and objectives. A public meeting is scheduled for April 23 to inform the public of the project and solicit their input. In addition, a survey has been prepared to assist the planning effort.
