Date: Friday March 7, 2008 - Saturday March 29, 2008
Time: Tues-Sat (10 am-6 pm)
Rachel Nicholson recently visited China, Tibet, and Cambodia. The legacy of ancient cultures, religions, and philosophies fascinated Nicholson, inspiring her to learn more about these societies. A felt artist for the past twenty years, Nicholson created new works representing her impressions of life in a modern Asian world. Rachel Nicholson earned a BA in Studio Art from Meredith College, Raleigh, NC. She has studied at Penland Craft School, Penland, NC; Arrowmont Craft School, Gatlinburg, TN; Arts Student League, Washington, DC; and John C. Campbell Folk School, Brasstown, NC. She is a member of the Carolina Designer Craftsmen, Piedmont Craftsmen, and the Artspace Artist Association. Her three-dimensional felt teapot is part of the Teapot Museum Collection, Sparta, NC. She also has work in the collection of North Wake Medical Hospital, Meredith College, Eye Care Associates, and State Farm Insurance.
