This is Raleigh Dance Theatre’s 25th anniversary, and we are having a special Gala weekend to celebrate. Former RDT dancers, choreographers, directors and guest artists will be traveling from around the country to attend this event. Our 7:00 performance on March 20, 2010 will feature several RDT alumni who are now dancing professionally. The alumnae include Laura Bowman, Pennsylvania Ballet; New York based dancer, Jessica Higgins; and Ashley Hathaway and Sarah Newton of Carolina Ballet. Choreography for the Gala will feature several RDT favorites as well as new works, including a piece choreographed by Carolina Ballet soloist Margot Martin and a new work by Mary LeGere to the music of Pulitzer Prize winning composer, Robert Ward. Performances will be held at Fletcher Opera Theater, Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts, March 20, 2010 at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Tickets are $12.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door.
