Get a fresh start to the season at the Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market’s Spring Fling Kickoff on Wednesday, April 27 from 10am-2pm in City Plaza on Fayetteville Street. Festivities include:

• Jammin’ bluegrass music by The Tims Bluegrass Band
• Lunches with locally sourced ingredients sold by Solas and Zely & Ritz
• Plein Art Painters on the plaza presented by The Mahler Fine Art. Local artists Wendy Musser, John Gaitenby, Paul Friedrich, and Mike Hoyt will create market-inspired paintings.
• Free “garden party” mini-cupcakes supplied by market vendor Sweet T (while supplies last)
• Free re-usable shopping bags provided by market presenting sponsor, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina
• Farming and gardening reading list and resources presented by the Wake County Library
