On Saturday, March 13 the City of Raleigh will come alive with the 28th Annual Raleigh St. Patrick's Day Parade & Wearin' 'O the Green Festival. The 2010 Parade will feature over 3000 marchers. Entries include floats, local dignitaries, entertainment personalities, singers, dancers, mascots, cultural and civic groups, and of course wonderful marching bands!
After the Parade, the celebration continues at the Wearin' 'O the Green Festival in Moore Square. Don't miss the Patriotic Parachute Team as they land right in the festivities. Enjoy live Irish music by local favorites, Eire Lingus and all the way from Ohio, Celtic rock favorites, Homeland will be on the Shamrock 'n Roll Stage. Dancers will be on Martin Street to entertain the crowd. There will be beer and grub of course and lots of fun activities for kids including a rock wall, train rides and crafts.
Come enjoy downtown the Irish way -- "We invented GREEN!"

Associated Street Closures:
This year’s staging are will be different than in years past.
Beginning at 11:00 am participants will begin assembling on the following streets.
South Wilmington Street between South Street and Davie Street
Lenoir Street between Wilmington Street and Blount Street
Cabarrus Street between Wilmington Street and Blount Street
Davie Street between Fayetteville Street and Blount Street
At 12:00 pm, the parade procession will proceed north on Wilmington Street to Davie Street, proceed west on Davie to Fayetteville Street, north on Fayetteville Street to Morgan Street, east on Morgan Street to Wilmington Street, north on Wilmington to Edenton Street, east on Edenton to Blount Street, south on Blount Street to Martin Street where the parade will disassemble.
A portion of the 200 block of East Martin Street, from South Blount Street to Blake Street, be closed from 6:00 am until 5:00 pm for festivities associated with the parade. The westbound lanes of 200 East Martin Street will be blocked at Person Street throughout the event. The streets along the route will be designated no parking from 6:00 am until 1:30 pm and all parking spaces on the 200 block of East Martin Street be encumbered from 6:00 am until after the parachute jump.
The Fort Bragg Green Beret Military Parachute Team will drop onto the 200 block of East Martin Street between the hours of 1:15 pm and 1:45 pm.
During this time the entire 200 block of East Martin will be closed.
