Raleigh Winterfest Kick Off and Ice Rink Opening

Bundle up for Raleigh's premier holiday event-the AT&T Raleigh Winterfest featuring an outdoor skating rink with natural ice in City Plaza on Fayetteville Street. The celebration begins at 5pm on Saturday, December 3 with local artists and performers, sledding ramps, a trackless train, carriage rides, Santa's Village, and Raleigh’s official tree lighting ceremony.
The fun continues with music featuring headliner the Breakfast Club and opening act Café Mars! Stay and enjoy festivities through 10 pm and skating until 11 pm!
This kickoff extravaganza will be followed by two months of additional programming on select dates at the AT&T Raleigh Winterfest Ice Rink featuring Sledding Sundays, Two for One Tuesdays, Music Craze Wednesdays, Thursday Morning Stroller Skate, Date and Skate Thursdays and Rock Around the Rink Fridays.

Associated Street Closures:
A portion of the 400 block of Fayetteville Street from the south end of the City Plaza to Davie Street will be closed from 9:00 am on Friday, 12-2-11 until 2:00 am on 12-4-11.
The Marriott traffic circle will remain open.
The 300 block of Fayetteville Street and the 00 block of Davie Street will be closed from 6:00 am on 12-3-11 until 2:00 am on 12-4-11.
In addition to the parking spaces along the streets listed above,all parking spaces on the portion of the 400 block of Fayetteville Street from the City Plaza to Lenoir Street will be encumbered from 6:00 am on 12-3-11 until 2:00 am on 12-4-11.
