The Raleigh Ensemble Players Theatre Company marks the beginning of its transition to its new home—213 Fayetteville Street—with Lee Blessing’s ELEEMOSYNARY, REP’s final production in Gallery Two of Artspace. In a return to its artistic roots, REP embraces the simplicity of this beautiful, heart-warming exploration of the Wesbrook women: Dorothea, the grandmother who has sought to assert her independence through strong-willed eccentricity; Artemis, her brilliant daughter, who has fled the stifling domination of her mother; and Artie’s daughter, Echo, a child of exceptional intellect who is determined to right all family wrongs by becoming a national spelling bee champion. (Dramatist Play Service)
