Roots to Rap: A Musical Conversation

Hear a discussion led by Pierce Freelon, university professor and founder of Blackademics.org, about North Carolina’s musical roots and influence on hip-hop and rap culture. The program includes special performances by local artist The Beast and others. The Durham-based quartet fearlessly navigates worlds of hip-hop and jazz with compelling lyrics and progressive compositions.
