Get ready to "Run for the Oaks" on Saturday, March 15th!
Now in its 26th year, "Run for the Oaks" is a joint effort between the N.C. Roadrunners’ Club and the Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department. All proceeds from the race will go towards planting trees in Raleigh. This project to benefit the City of Oaks is very significant due to the ice storms and hurricanes that have plagued Raleigh in recent years.
The event will begin in front of the City Market in downtown Raleigh at Martin and Person Streets with the 5K run at 8:30 am. The children’s fun run, for children 10 and younger, will begin around 9:45 am, and the awards ceremony will begin around 10 am. Registration for the fun run will be on-site the day of the event.
