Run for Young
Location: Downtown Raleigh
Date: Saturday January 12th, 2008
Time: 10 am-12 noon
This 5K “Run"was organized to honor Sadiki Young, a senior at Wakefield High who was killed as a passenger in a drunk driving car accident on January 14, 2007. The race will start at Christ Church, follow Edenton and Hillsborough Streets to the NCSU Bell Tower and then double back to finish at Christ Church. Proceeds will benefit the Youth Endowment Fund, started in Sadiki’s honor, at Christ Church where he was an acolyte. Proceeds will also go toward the Wakefield High “Think First” Program, an alcohol awareness program for teenagers.

Associated Street Closures:
The group will assemble on E. Edenton Street between Wilmington and Blount Streets beginning at 9:30 am. At 10 am the group will proceed west on Edenton Street to Hillsborough Street (Edenton Street will turn into Hillsborough Street), continue west on Hillsborough Street to Pullen Road where the group will turn around and return to the start/finish line using the same roads.
