Join us on March 27, 2010 at 2:00p.m. at the Raleigh City Museum as we celebrate Women’s History Month. In the mid-1950s, the activist educator Septima Clark developed a Citizenship School program that enabled thousands of African Americans to register to vote. More importantly, it taught them how to wield the power of the ballot effectively after they left the voting booth. Historian Katherine Mellen Charron will discuss Clark's life and activism, and how citizenship education enhanced women's participation in the civil rights movement. This program is free; seating is limited. Call (919)8
