Nearly 80 individuals will go Over the Edge for Special Olympics and rappel down the 30-story Wachovia Capitol Center. Individuals have raised $1,000 or more in order to be part of this event. Event festivities feature children’s activities and games, a T-shirt design contest, prizes, music, entertainment, food and beverages. All funds raised benefit Special Olympics North Carolina.

Event sponsors include RPG solutions, A Small Miracle, Spectrum Properties and Curtis Media’s 96Rock.

Special Olympics North Carolina offers year-round sports training and competition for more than 38,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. These athletes inspire greatness through their success and provide motivation to the thousands of coaches, sports officials, local program committee members and event organizers involved in Special Olympics statewide. SONC offers Olympic-type competition in 19 sports on local and state levels.
