The Spiderwick Chronicles tells the tale of the Graces, a family that must adapt to their new strange surroundings. Peculiar things start to happen when twin brothers Jared and Simon, along with their sister Mallory and their mother, move from New York City to a secluded old mansion owned by their great-great-uncle Arthur Spiderwick. Unable to explain the strange disappearances and accidents that seem to occur on a daily basis, the family blames Jared.
However, when he, Simon and Mallory start to investigate what is really going on, they uncover the fantastic truth of the Spiderwick estate and of the creatures that inhabit it.
