The Banjo: A Cultural History

North Carolina Museum of History Associates invite you to the N.C. Museum of History for cultural lecture. Laurent Marc Dubois, from Duke University will share the storied history of the banjo, an instrument whose development was marked by wide cultural encounters from Africa to the Caribbean and North America, contributing to an incredibly rich variety of musical traditions. This lecture, part of the series Perspectives on History, is presented in conjunction with the National Humanities Center. The cost is $5 per person.
