Take part in a group bike ride of beautiful downtown Raleigh and bring some joy to families in need. All you need to bring is your bike (in working order), a new toy to donate, your helmet, and your holiday cheer. Donated new toys will be given to families staying at The Women’s Center of Wake County (www.wcwc.org). The Women’s Center provides a safe place for women and their children who would otherwise be homeless and helps them get back on their feet through a variety of services.
All Riders will begin and end at Natty Greene’s Brewing Company.
Riders will have the choice of joining a leisurely, 6-mile ride or a longer 12-mile ride (please be prepared to ride 12 miles) Each ride will have a group leader and sweeper, so there is little chance of getting lost. The routes will include some neighborhood streets Raleigh greenways and past several downtown landmarks. The ride will finish back at Natty Greene’s for a post-ride get-together. With some hand crafted Natty Greene’s beers for the adults (2 per rider), and kid-friendly beverages for the little ones. If you would like to have a bite to eat after the ride Natty Greene’s will donate a percent to The Woman’s Center. Stick around after the ride, as there will also be a raffle for all registered riders with donated prizes totaled at $1,500.
On-site check-in for the event begins at 9 am at Natty Greene’s. Please allow enough time to check -in and sign a waiver. Children under 16 must have a parent present to co-sign. Helmets are required to participate in the group rides, and traffic laws must be obeyed.
Cost: A New Toy Valued @ $20.00 or more for Children (No monetary fee)
