Veteran's Day Parade

Location: Downtown Raleigh

Date: Saturday November 10th, 2007
Time: 9:00 am-1:15 pm

The parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will finish around 10:45 a.m.

After the parade, you are invited to the Formal Ceremony (11:00 sharp) at the Veterans Monument on the north side of the Capitol (Edenton Street) to honor our veterans.

This year the parade has been expanded.  Last year, 100 groups participated in the parade with over 1,300 marching in the parade. This year, over 100 groups will participate in the parade.  

This year the Enloe High School Band will hold a concert on the East side of the Capitol after the formal ceremony.

Associated Street Closures:
The parade will begin assembling at 8 am along South Salisbury Street between Edenton and Davie Streets. At approximately 9:15 am the parade will begin at the intersection of Davie and Fayetteville Streets. The parade will proceed north on Fayetteville Street to Morgan Street, west on Morgan Street to Salisbury Street, north on Salisbury Street to Edenton Street, east on Edenton Street to Wilmington Street where the parade will disassemble.

The following streets will be closed from 8 am until the conclusion of the parade:

Wilmington Street from Morgan to Jones
Edenton Street from Salisbury to Blount
Salisbury Street from Edenton to Cabarrus
West Morgan, West Hargett, West Martin, and West Davie Streets from Wilmington to McDowell
Fayetteville Street from Davie to the turn- around

Wilmington Street will remain open except for the two blocks mentioned above.
