About

Downtown Raleigh is at the heart of the Triangle, the fastest growing metropolitan region in the Carolinas. For businesses, residents and visitors alike, downtown is the urban center of the region, an incredible place to live, work and play. In 2009, City Plaza on Fayetteville Street opened as the premier public gathering space for a variety of Raleigh’s unique arts, cultural, and civic events. In 2010, the Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market launched its twenty-seven week inaugural season at City Plaza on Wednesday, April 28, 2010.

The Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market, a program produced by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, brings the highest quality local growers and food artisans together for a Raleigh audience. Our vendors include North Carolina farmers, ranchers, fisherman, nurserymen, bakers, cheese makers, and specialty foods producers.

This new market is a reinvention of its predecessor, the Moore Square Farmers Market. With a new look, new name, new website, and new location, this market promises to be the premier venue for locally grown produce and artisan foods in Raleigh.

Highlights from the 2011 season are detailed in our Year-In-Review
