What you’ll need:

 

1 quart of vegetable oil

1-½ cups of all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon of white sugar

2 teaspoons of baking powder

½ teaspoon of salt

2/3 cup of milk

2 eggs, beaten

1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

3 cups of apples, peeled, cored and chopped

1 cup of cinnamon sugar

 

Directions:

 

Heat the quart of oil in a pot or dutch oven until it reaches 375 degrees.  In a large bowl stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.  Pour in the milk, eggs, and the tablespoon of oil until everything is well blended.  Mix in the apples until they are evenly distributed.

 

Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden on both sides. Fry in small batches to not overcrowd the pot.  Toss with cinnamon sugar while still warm.
