Mark your calendar now for the Downtown Raleigh Living Tour set for Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Formerly known as the Downtown Raleigh Home Tour, this successful event showcasing downtown dwellings, is turning a new page. New this year, the spotlight will more intensely focus on the experience and benefits of urban living. Ticket holders are invited to visit the variety of homes but to also discover why downtown is becoming the neighborhood of choice. Particular emphasis will be given to downtown’s amenities—the medley of independently-owned restaurants, unique retail shops and services—many will be featured during the event and will offer discounts to attendees. Also new for 2012 are the “information hot spots.” Each hot spot will shed light on topics from budget-friendly decorating, eco-friendly interiors to downtown living.
In its eighth year, the Tour has been an effective way to market downtown Raleigh’s uniqueness and diversity of residential units. Downtown offers young professionals, empty nesters, and everyone in between housing options suited to their particular lifestyle. The Tour highlights available units in residential buildings such as The Plaza Condominiums, 222 Glenwood, and the West, both occupied and for-sale single-family houses in Historic Oakwood and Boylan Heights, just to name a few. Whether you’re a serious homebuyer or curious onlooker, the doors of downtown are opened to urban amenities, historic preservation, interior design, and architectural charm.
The Tour is self-guided and designed to be a walking tour, but we also encourage use of the FREE R-Line and riding your bicycle. Another FREE transportation option will be golf cart shuttles which will follow designated routes to several tour stops.
Save money by purchasing advance sale tickets for $10* (available online beginning April 9 through May 18 until 5:00 PM). Day of event tickets are $15*. All tickets and tour brochures can be picked up the day of the event between 9:45 AM and 4:00 PM at the headquarters tent located next to the Wells Fargo Capitol Center building, 150 Fayetteville Street. The headquarters will feature information displays, give-aways from tour sponsors, raffle opportunities, other fun stuff.
All participants are eligible for the $1000 closing cost incentive offered to the first three attendees who purchase and close on a home featured on the Tour before December 31, 2012.

*A portion of the ticket proceeds will be donated to the Raleigh/Wake 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness.
