Bickett Gallery Brings Modern Art New to Downtown in Hudson

Bickett Gallery, an art and multimedia space in downtown Raleigh, is proud to announce the opening of “Bickett Gallery at The Hudson!” Located on the recently renovated Fayetteville Street Mall, the historic Hudson building is also home to news station ABC 11, jazz café Yancy’s and luxury condominiums. Molly Miller, gallery owner and curator, will host a gala opening reception in The Hudson lobby September 15, 2006. Bickett Gallery at The Hudson will be open to the public beginning September 1 for the first Friday gallery walk.

All aspects of The Hudson building combine versatile approach, innovative ideas, and modern style. These characteristics can be likened to the life of founder J.L. Hudson, who is said to have changed the way Americans shop when he created a clothing store sensation in the late 1800s. Elements such as, condos, a bank, a bar, a news station and an art gallery express a continued commitment to this vision.

Molly Miller, owner and curator of Bickett Gallery, also has that vision. Miller strives to create an environment that changes the way people see art. Bickett Gallery features modern multimedia artwork from matchless local, national and international artists.

“The Hudson building has been a favorite of mine for some time now. The architecture and interior style are in sync with my idea of high-quality form and style”, said Molly Miller. “The Bickett Gallery space will be a stellar fit with The Hudson space. I’m excited to have two locations in Raleigh – one off of Glenwood Ave. in Five Points and the other in the heart of downtown.”

Bickett Gallery at The Hudson will feature a different artist every three months, beginning with new artwork from David McConnell. Next in the rotation, Nicole Welch’s works will be displayed in December 2006. To learn more about the Hudson Building, visit:  http://www.hudsonraleigh.com/home.
