Kelly MarCom Designs New Downtown Raleigh Web Site

Godowntownraleigh.com gives the public full access to Downtown Raleigh

SANFORD, N.C. – MONTH X, 2006 – Kelly MarCom, a full-service marketing communications firm, announced today the launch of the new Web site the firm designed for the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, www.godowntownraleigh.com. The user-friendly site is a one-stop source for information about downtown, including restaurants, shopping, nightlife, cultural arts, places to live and information about doing business in Raleigh.

The interactive site lets the user search for activities and residential sites from a map of the five downtown districts: Glenwood South, Capital District, Warehouse District, Fayetteville Street District and Moore Square. The site also includes a comprehensive events calendar that is updated each day.

“This site is the one-stop shop for information related to everything you’d ever want to know about Downtown Raleigh,” said Nancy Hormann, president and CEO of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance. “The new Web site is an important indicator of the growing interest and involvement in downtown.”

The new site was designed by Kelly MarCom, a local integrated marketing communications firm, and built on a state-of-the-art content management system by Scott Reston, who completed all of the coding and backend features. Kelly MarCom also designed the new logo for the Downtown Raleigh Alliance; the logo features five blocks of color to signify distinct districts of downtown. The logo and identity system earned Kelly MarCom the Triangle CREW Champion Award for the most creative advertising/marketing project of 2006. Kelly MarCom also won a 2006 ADDY award from the Ad Club of the Triangle for its work on the Downtown Raleigh logo.

Two of Reston’s web projects have recently been recognized nationally as official honoree selections of the 10th annual Webby Awards, an international award honoring excellence in Web design, creativity, usability and functionality.
