Project Homeless Connect is a one-day event sponsored by community leaders designed to provide housing, services, and hospitality to people experiencing homelessness in a convenient one-stop format. The ultimate goal of the event is to connect people with the resources they need to help them leave the streets for better lives. Our theme is "1 day, 1 stop, 1 goal".

1 day: Thursday, October 25, 2007, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

1 stop: Moore Square (downtown Raleigh), rain or shine

1 goal: to connect people who are homeless to services

Service providers from government, non-profits, and the business community will offer services (e.g., mainstream benefits, employment assistance, Social Security, housing, medical and behavioral health services, legal assistance, food, education, basic needs assistance, etc.) on site during the day of the event.

Our event is part of a larger regional effort taking place that day; the Triangle United Way is helping coordinate this regional approach with Project Homeless Connects in Wake, Durham, and Orange counties all on October 25.

A brief Opening Ceremony with Wake County Commissioner Lindy Brown, Honorary Host, and Philip Mangano, Executive Director of the U.S.
Interagency Council on Homelessness, will be at 10:30 a.m. in Moore Square.

The PHC Raleigh event is being sponsored by Wake County Human Services, Triangle United Way, the NC Interagency Council for Coordinating Homeless Programs, and Riley Contracting Group. Planning for PHC Raleigh has been undertaken by Wake Continuum of Care member agencies, the City of Raleigh/Wake County Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness, Wake County Human Services, Triangle United Way, and the Hillsborough Street Partnership.
