Summer Performance Series: Charles Pettee
Musician Charles Pettee will delight audiences with blues, bluegrass and gospel at the N.C. Museum of History in Raleigh. Come enjoy the talent and good humor he has brought to more than 3,500 performances throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Hear Pettee on Sunday, July 22, at 3 p.m. as part of the museum’s Summer Performance Series. Admission is free.
Using banjo, harmonica, guitar and voice, Pettee will present a tapestry of sounds that make up the music of North Carolina. He began playing guitar and mandolin while growing up in Asheville. Today, his distinctive mandolin style, voice and original compositions captivate audiences of all ages.
Pettee is a founding member of the Shady Grove Band from Chapel Hill. For more than two decades, the band has toured and performed nationwide and appeared on CBS and NBC television. They have had 13 concert tours of Europe and produced six CDs.
