VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

The Downtown Raleigh Alliance is looking for volunteers to help with the City Plaza Ice Rink that will be open from Friday, December 4, 2009 - Sunday, January 31, 2010. The hours of operation will be Monday through Thursday from 4 pm to 9 pm; Friday, 4 pm to 10 pm; Saturday, 11 am to 10 pm; Sunday, noon to 5 pm. We will be offering extended weekday hours from December 21-30 and January 18 and 25 from 11 am to 9 pm.

Participating as a volunteer at the City Plaza Ice Rink provides opportunities to meet new people, contribute directly to an important downtown landmark...and it's fun. Volunteers serve greeters at the entrance to the rink or offer assistance to skaters on the ice. Skating experience is preferred for some positions; we'll provide the training for the greeters. Each volunteer is assigned to the rink for 2 1/2, 3 1/2 or 4 hour shifts. There are several shifts from which to choose—please see the application for a complete list. Volunteers must commit to three shifts. You will receive a skating pass good for three trips to the rink, a sweatshirt and you are invited to a thank you party at the end of the season.

There will be a brief orientation session at the City Plaza Ice Rink. The date will be announced by mid-November.

The deadline to register as a City Plaza Ice Rink volunteer is MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2009.
