Ipreo Raleigh Winterfest Begins at New, Earlier Time

RALEIGH, NC (October 24, 2016) – Raleigh’s premiere holiday celebration spreads its cheer at a brand earlier new time!  Ipreo Raleigh Winterfest, produced by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance in keeping with its mission to provide high-quality downtown events, will take place on Saturday, December 3 from 12 noon – 8 pm on Fayetteville Street.

“Each year we look for ways to give event-goers an even better experience,” says DRA President and CEO David Diaz.  “This year, we’re giving Winterfest an early bird start, so that families with young children have an opportunity to get into the holiday spirit at a time that works for them.”

The family-friendly event features rides (Ferris wheel, carousel, super slide), Santa’s Village, a Gingerbread House Competition, the Ice Raleigh Skating Rink, beer, several food trucks, and more!  There will also be five different musical acts, headlined by Holy Ghost Tent Revival.

The Official Tree Lighting Ceremony will cap off the evening in the picturesque City Plaza.

Registration for the Gingerbread House Competition is open now, through Monday, November 21.  New this year, we’re offering a children’s category for kids to display their own creativity.  Interested parties can register here
