Dress Like a Boss: Women’s Fashion and Societal Roles

Host: Diane Ellis, Professor and Program Coordinator, Fashion Merchandising and Design, Meredith College Ellis started sewing at age five and was an entrepreneur by age 13. Before long, she was creating costumes for a variety of roles and serving as a store manager, a buyer, a sales manager, and a distribution supervisor before venturing into interior design and teaching. This evening she will talk about the history of changes in dress and how they have shadowed changes in women’s societal roles.
Cost: $10 per person; $8 for MOHA/museum members; $3, college students with ID
