LOCATION: Imurj - 300 S. McDowell St

Our January main gallery is a solo show featuring artist Daphne Rodgers. Join us on First Friday (January 5, 2018) for her opening reception. Sidecar Social Club will be putting on an awesome, live performance for you, while Daphne creates live art on the spot. Artist bio for Daphne: "I grew up in Raleigh and Wake Forest, North Carolina, and received a BFA in Studio Art from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2017. As a Triangle native, the local landscape has had a huge impact on my work, and my surroundings are my muse. My intimate relationship with the NC landscape is a driving force behind my aesthetic, and I respond through abstraction. I use art making as a method of right-brain communication and as a way to process my experiences nonverbally through form. I constantly absorb the emotional energy of the people and environments around me, and release this energy through painting, drawing, and sculpture. My process is the place where internal thought and external movement converge." Sidecar Social Club features sultry lounge music sounds that you will not forget! You can listen to Sidecar Social Club on soundcloud.
