APRIL 2018: Moving On…To Watercolor Heaven 311 Gallery, located at 311 West Martin Street, Raleigh NC 27601, presents the Moving On…To Watercolor Heaven, a double show. Moving On features the incredible kinetic art of Kevin Duval. You start the art moving and it moves seemingly forever is a dazzling display of color and movement. To Watercolor Heaven features four of North Carolina’s best watercolor artists: Rick Bennett, Amy Beshgetoorian, Janie Johnson, and Patricia Williams. From scenic to abstract, from funny to poignant, these incredible examples of the best of watercolor art will tickle your fancy and pluck at your heartstrings. The Moving On…To Watercolor Heaven show runs April 5-28, 2018, open Thursdays – Saturdays 12:00 to 4:00 pm and First Fridays 12:00 – 9:30 pm. The Opening Reception is on First Friday, April 6, 2018 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Also open by appointment. 311 Gallery is the location of the first art in Raleigh’s Warehouse District. In the early years, a fine art printing shop was in the back, art studios were in the middle, and several art galleries were spawned in the front. Today, 311 Gallery has an exhibition hall running through the building between the 12 artist studios. Half of the studios are working studios and the others are exhibition only. Over 35 Resident Artists show in their studios throughout the year. The exhibition area changes monthly, with Opening Receptions on the First Friday of each month. Exhibitions run through the Saturday before the next First Friday.
